Come and Live in the Past!
The Highlands Picnic Train
Sydney–Moss Vale via Robertson (return)
— ONE DATE ONLY —
Saturday, 7 November 2020
Departing from Sydney’s Central Station, this is a rare opportunity to take a steam train tour to Moss Vale, via the picturesque South Coast Line. Once reaching Unanderra, our train heads up the Illawarra Escarpment giving you breathtaking views as the train works hard to climb the mountain.
Hauling the Highlands Picnic Train will be our legendary Baldwin steam locomotive, 5917 — built in the 1950s for the NSW Government Railways.
We have a simplified ticketing process — encompassing NSW Covid-Safe regulations.
There will be no buffet service on board. Passengers are advised to bring a picnic lunch and drinks.
The Highlands Picnic Train picks up at Central, Sutherland and Wollongong Stations only. Passengers are welcome to detrain at either Robertson or Moss Vale, where you will have plenty of time to enjoy lunch and explore the towns.
If lunching in either Robertson or Moss Vale, please book beforehand to avoid disappointment.
